Page & Lake Powell, Arizona

Finally we have a campsite with a view and what a view it is, Wahweap RV & Campground sits erched on the hill and we can sit at our breakfast table and watch the sun come up over the lake with the mountains in the backgroundand it is a sight to behold. The weather has turned cool and windy but still tolerable.

Betty Boop at age 55.
The gang having a good time celebrating Betty's 55th birthday at Lake Powell Resort.
Robie, Betty & I went and played golf while Basil and Nola went shopping and sightseeing. The golf course is like no other any of us have played before, it starts off at road level and works its way up a mountainside with lush green fairways surrounded by red rock formations.

The courses signature hole # 15 is about 173 yards long right on top of the mountain hitting off the tee across rock and waste down about 900 feet  from the tee to a heart shaped green and straight into the very strong wind. Robie & I made the green but unfortunatly Betty did not have the lenght to get over the waste and her ball disappeared into the canyon.

Betty's golf swing is poetry in motion, just watch the video clip, Robies on the other hand well it has to be seen to be believed, I'm lucky no one videod my swing.

Page seems to exist because of the dam which was constructed in 1956 in  Glen canyon to form Lake Powell with the dam wall being 710 feet above the original river bed. It now provides a tourist meca for boating fishing and sightseeing and is full of bass in the lake and rainbow trout below the dam wall.

Tomorrow we move on to Glendale in Utah and use it as a base for visiting Bryce and Zion Canyons however it is only a drive of about 100 miles so not a tough day although the weather could pla a part.
