Columbia Falls to West Yellowstone, Montana

11th July, 2012 - Columbia Falls, Montana

One of the local dance halls in Columbia Falls - Robie and Tom seem fascinated by it but I didn't see anything worth writing home about.

Meadow Lake Golf Course and Ski Resort -little gem hidden away in the back roads of C.Falls.

Robie played 18 holes of golf with us and Sharon being the good sport, came along for the ride.

A beautiful course, well worth the price - bring bug spray, the mozzies were of jurassic size..

We spotted this cute sculpture at one of the homes bordering the course.
A golfer's nightmare - an island in a sand bunker. Imagine your ball landing right up against the lip of the island!

The boys posing at one of the holes.

Robie looking spiffy at Truby's the golf course restaurant. They make the best gluten free pizza I've ever had.  Ask for the Cajun topping with jalapenos - they are very generous with the toppings!

10th July 2012 - Whitefish, Montana

We took a drive to Whitefish, a fairly large town about 180 miles from C. Falls. We noticed that a lot of these cute houses were actually business offices.

Clock tower standing watch on our approach across a bridge in Whitefish.
When was the last time you saw a sculpture such as this at an Australian bank? Love the stone work.
I was quite surprised to see how these roses were loving the heat.

Spotted at our RV Park - as I've said before, when you are travelling for 3 months - size does matter. This tiny caravan must be a regular hell hole in the heat!
