Welcoming party by Robie & Sharon

Robie & Sharon put on a welconing party for all of their friends where Robie cooked a huge pot of Spagetti sauce, Spagetti, Italian sausages and desert. He was preparing and cooking all day and a great night was had by all.

That's how huge the spaghetti pot and wooden spoon (make that oar!) were.

The dinner was held at the Events Centre, Copper Hill owned by Charlene and Jimmy. Its a beautiful venue.

Salem Golf Club

SORRY FOLKS THE BLOG EDITOR WAS DOWN FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS.

After a few days of relaxing and enjoying ourselves today we played Salem Golf Club http://salemgolfclub.com/ which is a municipal golf course dating back to 1920, it is an old traditional course but it is in perfect condition and a joy to play.

The main club house built from timber and brick is a very attractive building with a nice verenda looking down the 1st fairway.

The dining room which is operated as a separate business and is known as Rudy's, it serves great food.

2 day drive from Eureka up Highway 101 to Salem Oregon

Over the last two days we drove from Eureka via Bandon, Oregon and on to Salem Oregon to finally again meet up with our friends Robie & Sharon Furlong. The Route 101 up the Oregon coast is one of the most scenic drives you can find anywhere and we have really enjoyed it. The road was substantially free of ehavy traffic and therefore I could just relax and enjoy the drive.

We stopped overnight at Bandon which is next to the world famous Bandon Dunes Golf Courses and of course a visit to the club was in order so we had a very nice lunch there.



Many of the players still play in the traditional "Plus fours"



Caddies are required and they dress in either black or white overalls similar to what is done at the "Masters".

We could not help but stop and get our pics taken with these glorious rhodedondren bushes.
