Legend Oaks Plantation and Golf Course - what a lovely golf course.
We are in S. Carolina having left Florida on the 31st May - once again we crossed 3 Statelines in a day as our route hugged the coast lines of Florida, Georgia and South Carolina.
The golf carts were equipped with large global positioning systems - wonderful help but it also lets the club know how fast or slow one is playing!
Lots of water on this course, the greens were more like the greens back home in Oz.
A grandiose house that we spotted. This is after all the land of "Scarlett O'Hara".
We based ourselves at the KOA RV Park in Yemassee, S. Carolina from where we did our runs into Charleston and Hilton Head Island.
Beautiful Charleston - personally I love it better than the French Quarters in New Orleans.
There is an old world aura about Charleston that imparts gentility.
On the way to Hilton Head Island, S. Carolina
One of the numerous Atlantic intracoastal waterways. The Intracoastal Waterway is a 3,000-mile waterway along the Atlantic and Gulf coasts of the United States. Some lengths consist of natural inlets, salt-water rivers, bays, and sounds; others are artificial canals.
One of the many houses nestled in the beautiful canopy of oak trees.
There are over 40 championship quality golf courses on Hilton Head. We passed a couple of them designed by Davis Love III and Gary Player. Definitely a playground for the "haves".
We lunched at the Crazy Crab Restaurant - our waitress looked as if she had served many years on a fishing boat. Tough and no nonsense!
Ma and Pa rocking chairs available for the public to cool off under the trees.
Harbour Town Lighthouse. Unfortunately we could not get a good view of the golf course that the area is famous for.
Yes, I prefer Charleston too. Beautiful. Interesting looking golf GPS. Murray is looking into buying a range finder to take home - they all seem to be loaded with US golf course maps obviously. He just wants one to tell him how far to the green. If you have done any research and have any suggestions, please pass them on.
